Our Story

Potential is universal. Opportunity is not. MLL tries to level the playing field for adolescent girls from impoverished communities through weekly life-skill building training and programs.

Vision

Metro Leadership League exists to provide the opportunity for eighth- through twelfth- grade girls in under-resourced communities to realize their potential and build a foundation of self worth and perseverance that leads to a lifetime of success — TODAY and TOMORROW.

Our Story

Mission

Metro Leadership League is committed to expanding underserved adolescent girls’ vision of possibility in an emotionally safe and encouraging environment. Girls meet regularly with female, volunteer mentors, “coaches” to participate in fun, explorative development sessions to learn self-discovery, goal setting, community outreach and life-skill activities to INSPIRE confidence in their potential to succeed.

  • “What I love about MLL is that we can be who we want to be, and there are people that have been through what we have been through and are willing to help us get to where we want to be in the future. The coaches really care about what we have to say and what we need to do. They are really understanding about what we need to do.”

  • “We want to help the girls realize that in situations where they may feel like they don’t have multiple options, everything is actually a choice.”
